Whoop whoop - January completed!

A little belated I know but Happy New Year!

How are things going with your New Year intentions?

We so often use January as a time to set new goals, start new lifestyle habits and quit 'this and that' - but how many of us are still going by time February arrives? I set myself the task of a 'dry' January again this year - which I'm pleased to report I successfully completed. But what happened? Feb 1st came and my willpower to abstain vanished!!!

Thankfully when it comes to exercising I need no willpower. Being active is so integral to my well- being that if don't exercise I get withdrawal symptoms.

So, if you're in need of a little motivation to keep up those new or long term physical habits look no further! My classes will be here for you not just in January but throughout all of the year (apart from holidays see below).

Here's to a happy and healthy 2024 for us all!

Last November tragedy struck and we lost a great friend, a fabulous fitness and pilates coach and a true gem of a lady Jane Hickson. She had built up a thriving fitness business here in Chester over the past 15 years and was well loved and respected by her clients and fellow instructors. It is still hard to comprehend that she is no longer with us and I for one will miss her dearly.

To all of Jane's clients who have recently joined our classes - you are wished a very warm welcome here at Class Fitness. Thank you for entrusting me to look after you. I cannot replace Jane but I will endeavour to serve you well and work you as hard as she did!

May I also take this opportunity to welcome a number of other new members to classes. I do hope that you are enjoying the classes so far and you are already feeling the benefits.

And don't forget I'm always open to feedback about the sessions - always looking to improve!

All scheduled Classes up till Mid April will soon be available to book via

Please note however that there shall be NO CLASSES weeks commencing 19th and 26th Feb due to holidays or on Friday 12th April.

There are also no scheduled classes on Good Friday 29th March or Easter Monday 1st April.

And on Thursday 14th March there will be NO evening Fitsteps class.

Therefore classes on these dates/times will not appear on Gymcatch

Pilates Classes

We now have 8 classes of pilates running per week - providing various levels of tuition, both daytime and evening. Please see timetable: https://www.classfitness.co.uk/timetable

These are all proving to be very popular and in the main are running at capacity each week.

Therefore if you are booked into a session and know that you are not going to be able to attend please would you CANCEL your session on Gymcatch ASAP allowing your space to be freed up for others.

If you are looking to get into a class PLEASE do register yourself onto the waiting list for that session as we do see quite a lot of movement with last minute cancellations etc.

A few more things to note:

  • Priority booking of pilates sessions is always given to regular attendees of a class 1st. Currently this means that regular users of classes have access to priority booking of the March-Mid April dates released on Gymcatch, until Fri 9th Feb.

  • Once priority users have made their bookings then spare spaces are available to book by anyone wishing to attend.

  • Pilates passes are your cheapest means to fund classes and can be bought as 5 or 10 class passes on gymcatch. Passes do not commit you to a certain class however, so once you have bought a pass you do need to use it to book into the sessions of your choice else I will not know to expect you and you are not guaranteed a space.

  • Passes do not require you to book consecutive weeks and you can mix and match the days you attend to suit your schedule. However it is advised that where possible you do try to attend regularly to get consistency and to keep up with progressions taught.

Cancellation Policy

For ALL timetabled classes booked through Gymcatch, please note that the current cancellation policy is that you must cancel within 12 hours of the class starting to receive a refund. After this period you will still be liable for the cost of the class.

This is to reflect that many classes are attracting waiting lists where ample warning is required to fill the space.

Should you wish to avoid this risk, you of course have the option of only booking your sessions when you are certain that you will be in a position to attend. Gymcatch will take bookings (providing space is available) until the start time of every class.

Class Spotlight - BODYBLAST - 6.15pm Wednesdays @ Upton URC Church

Did you know that we tackle that Mid-week Hump with our most energetic, timetabled class 'Body Blast'?

It's a class with high calorie burn due to it's HIIT components, coupled with muscle defining strength exercises.

Each week we mix up the protocols and equipment used to keep challenging our bodies and minds.

And the beauty of this session is that all exercises can be easily modified so everyone is working at an intensity which challenges them.

If you haven't tried this one yet I'd highly recommend you do - and maybe even stay for the pilates session which follows it - a winning formula!

1:1 Sessions Available

I currently have a couple of weekly spaces available for 1:1 sessions at my personal studio in Christleton.

These are ideal for folks who are new to exercising with me or who are returning after illness/surgery etc and wanting to check out abilities before entering a class environment or wish for that more personal touch.

Prices are £30 per hour if a one off session is booked or £125 if a block of 5 is purchased in advance.

Please do message me on 07929842662 to chat through your needs and determine availability.

BARRE PILATES

Apologies for fans of our online Barre Pilates classes.

Whilst we embed the new pilates classes onto the timetable, unfortunately I do no have spare capacity to run a new Barre Pilates course. I do hope to remedy this later in the year however so please do keep your ears open for updates.

Expected Price Increases for new Tax year

Apologies folks - but as with so many businesses currently, I have noticed a significant downturn in my profits as costs soar. I would love not to pass these costs onto your good selves but unfortunately I have to marry up my efforts vs the rewards.

I will endeavour not to make significant hikes to prices but I wanted to give you a heads up that I shall be putting my prices up a little in April. I do hope that you understand.

As always - thank you for your continued support of my small, independent business.

Here's to a FIT February for us all!
