And we're off!! 2018 are you ready for us?

Hi Folks!

Having successfully managed a dry January I'm certainly well aware that we've only a few days left of the month!!

And what a month we have had. It's been a fabulous January welcoming back familiar faces following the Christmas break and opening the doors to lots of new folk these past few weeks. Welcome! With the setting of new intentions and goals there's been a wonderful energy in sessions and the genuine support for one another has been palpable.

Here's hoping that all these rotten viruses doing the rounds have run their course now and we can really get down to business in February and beyond!

So what 's coming up?.......

Core timetabled classes

All your usual weight loss support sessions, zumba, fitsteps, burn 'n' firm, body blast and walk/run sessions are up and running per the timetable (check out usual times/venues on the timetable tab here on the website) and will run now until Easter with no holidays scheduled.

I have a couple of holiday dates booked in for later this year and this will be the only time that these sessions will not run. They are:

Weeks commencing 2nd and 9th April, 13th and 20th August, 29th October and 17th and 24th December.

Pop these into you diary!

Courses in VeraFlow and Pilates

These shall continue to run as courses throughout the year and shall coincide with the school half terms.

The next dates for:

VeraFlow (Monday Evening Block - 8-9 pm)

Pilates (Tues 11.15am, Tues 1.30pm and Wed 7.45pm) are

Starting week commencing Monday 26th Feb

Ending week commencing Monday 26th March.

Please note these are just 5 week courses as Easter is early this year. Prices will be reduced to reflect the shorter courses.

PLEASE let me know ASAP if you would like to reserve a space on the next course.

If you want to unleash your inner rock star whilst working out then why not join the Tuesday Burn'n' Firm class on either Feb 13th or March 27th when we have the fantastic Hayley Astle joining us to deliver a Pound session complete with drumsticks!

It's a great cardio and toning workout with a real feel good factor! So don't miss out. No booking required. Usual fees apply.

Run/ Walk Events

If one of your resolutions has been to get more active in the outdoors then signing yourself up to an event is a great way of keeping you motivated to get out there regularly and train.

Some of our Thursday morning run club members are already signed up for the Cheshire 10K at Arley Hall in March but for those of you still to decide I have compiled a list of local events happening throughout the year including such things as Race for Life and other charitable events.

Please be assured ..... they don't all involve running! Why not sign up to walking 10,000 steps a day throughout March and raise funds for Cancer Research UK?

Check it out:

Save the Date - 17th March

Speaking of members signing up for events, another of our fabulous run club members, Mary Ann Cameron, is signed up to run her first 5K race on Sat March 17th in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. This will be a personal race to be run at Chester's Countess Park, Park Run @ 9am.

She would value any support in sponsorship and for those who may be available on the day to come down and cheer her on!

In her own words :

"I am not a runner – it has taken me 5 years to get to this stage and I run slower than most people walk. - When I do this run I will have reached an age when both numbers reflect my body shape. (anyone who suggests that means I'll be 88 has to donate twice!) - I don't even have a pony tail - informal research worldwide has proved to me conclusively that all good female runners have pony tails."

So if you can help, please follow the link below to sponsor: or get behind her on the day and come down to support.

Way to go Mary Ann!! You can do it!

Brendan Cole: All Night Long dance show comes to Chester's Story House
